FA launches a revamped England Football Learning website

The FA’s education arm, England Football Learning, has relaunched its website learn.englandfootball.com, with the easy to navigate new site offering a breadth of learning resources and courses.

The website replaces the previous platform for coaches, The Boot Room, and aims to support the development of coaches and wider footballing roles at all levels of the game around the country and beyond.

England Football Learning currently supports 140,000 active coaches and the ongoing development of coaches and wider workforce delivering the game to 1.58million affiliated registered players and 14.1million people in England who play football across all forms and frequencies.

A variety of ongoing learning modules, webinars and workshops are now easily accessible due to the updated website and its redesign. Enhanced resources are offered across coaching, safeguarding, medical training and compliance and much more. Many are delivered remotely via online learning, opening up the world of coaching and associated courses to anyone, anywhere. With clear signposts and navigation within the website, participants are empowered with control over their own learning.

To enhance coaches’ practical work, there are free, downloadable session plans provided by England Football Learning’s expert Coach Developers for coaches at varying levels. Along with hundreds of free articles on coach development, technical player development, tactical advice, insightful interviews and more.

Supporting the game from grassroots to the elite level, 38 courses are available to book or apply for. These range from the free EE Playmaker by England Football entry level course which is online and gives people the flexibility to complete in their own time, through to the elite level UEFA Pro License which helps develop highly-skilled and aspiring leaders of the professional game.

Lucy Pearson, Director of FA Education said: “There are over 15.5million people playing football at differing levels in England, and it’s vital that we provide the resources and support for the ongoing development of the coaching community. We want to ensure the successful and positive delivery of sessions up and down the country, week-in week-out.

The new website will help us to deliver a breadth of real-time learning from grassroots to the elite game, building up resources over time so that coaches can keep coming back for support with the tasks and concerns they have. Essentially the platform gives coaches and the wider workforce 24/7 access to a range of learning resources to enable them to continue developing their skills and improve the football experience for the players they work with.”
