Manchester City and Laybuy have signed a new multi-year regional partnership that will see the payment provider become the Official Buy Now, Pay Later Partner for Manchester City in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Laybuy’s innovative approach provides simple and transparent solutions which help consumers and businesses transact safely and securely to spread costs into six manageable and interest-free weekly repayments.
As the new season kicks in, Laybuy will celebrate the partnership with a new ‘Switch Play on How You Pay’ campaign featuring a host of exciting fan activations and the opportunity to reconnect with Manchester City Legends as they extend extra time on payments to extra time on the pitch for some of the Club’s most iconic legends.
As the Laybuy brand continues to grow across the UK, Australia and New Zealand, this new partnership will help to develop its market presence to businesses and consumers alike.
Stephan Cieplik, VP. Director of Partnerships APAC for Manchester City, commented: “Laybuy has quickly established a strong reputation in New Zealand and Australia and it is continuing to develop and grow into new markets. We’re looking forward to working with each other using our shared belief in technology and innovation to bring our partnership to life.”
Commenting on the partnership, Gary Rohloff, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Laybuy, said: “This is the first step of many in our bigger ambition to enable fans to fuel their love for their football clubs with innovative new payment options. This partnership perfectly reflects Laybuy and the Club’s shared values in ensuring football is as accessible as possible; keeping the community spirit alive by letting fans support their club to the fullest and stress free. We’re excited for what the future holds.”
The collaboration is designed to let dedicated fans support their club to the fullest and over the coming months, Manchester City and Laybuy will be exploring opportunities to integrate the Laybuy ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ payment option into club platforms including City’s retail offering.
