Pinterest expands in APAC with a new office in Singapore

US based social media website Pinterest has has opened a new office in Singapore which will serve Southeast Asia and India as part of its expansion in APAC. 

This is the company’s second office in APAC with the first being introduced in Tokyo in 2013. Ayumi Nakajima, who is also the company’s country manager in Southeast Asia and India, will head the office.  Nakajima will prioritise the international growth of Pinterest as currently, more than half of Pinterest’s users are located in the US .

According to a statement by Pinterest, the Singapore-based team will support the relationship between users and the brands, publishers, or content creators, as well as build localised experiences for these users throughout the region. The new office is the next step in offering a personalised experience to Pinterest users in the target region, serving the company’s commitment to accommodate all “Pinners” across the globe.

The team has started working with regional companies including MasakTV, Tastemade, and Femina Magazine in Indonesia and Vogue India and Miss Malini in India.
