ELEVEN Taiwan inks live streaming partnership with Twitch

ELEVEN Taiwan has partnered with the streaming platform Twitch ahead of the new Taiwan baseball season, to make its live match coverage more accessible to fans than ever.

ELEVEN Taiwan holds the rights to all home matches for the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) for the Rakuten Monkeys, Wei Chuan Dragons and Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions. Games are served up to audiences on Linear TV and via ELEVEN’s OTT service.

From the 2022 season (which commences on Saturday 2nd April), all ELEVEN’s games will also be available to fans on Twitch, on a pay-per-view basis. A special free service for pre-season CPBL games is already available on the platform.

In addition to expanding its distribution network, ELEVEN Taiwan will be introducing new original programming for the 2022 season, with a host of shows that bring fans closer to their teams and favourite players.

Eric Teng, ELEVEN Group Taiwan Managing Director, said: “We are committed to making our offering of live local baseball as accessible to fans as possible, and our new agreement with Twitch will allow us to champion our games to younger fans in a new way. We’re excited to get going.”

ELEVEN Taiwan launched in 2016 and offers fans a mix of top local rights like the CPBL and the best international sport including the Premier League and NBA. ELEVEN employs a platform agnostic offering across its OTT, linear and social platforms to deliver for fans however and wherever they want to consume the action.

ELEVEN Taiwan’s CPBL coverage gained an international following in 2020. With the Covid-19 pandemic putting live sport across the world on hold, the CPBL was amongst the first professional competitions in the world to return to action. ELEVEN streamed games for free internationally, amassing more than 10million views for their coverage
