Bears launch new Edgbaston app ahead of Blast campaign

Edgbaston Stadium has launched a brand new mobile app to make it even easier to follow the Bears from home on tablet and smartphones.

Available to download for free on iOS and Android, the new Edgbaston app makes it even easier for fans to follow the Bears Vitality Blast fortunes through a new match day live stream, with quizzes, polls and other interactive features that are designed to enhance the supporter experience.

The app has primarily been designed to enhance the match day experience for when the Birmingham venue can safely accommodate the return of spectators. This includes built-in mobile ticketing, the ability to order food and drink from your seat and an interactive venue guide.

Chris Airey, Head of Marketing and Brand at Warwickshire CCC, said: “We want to provide the very best experience for everyone who comes to Edgbaston, and the new app has been designed to help our guests to maximise their day.

“Whilst we originally planned to launch earlier this year ahead of our major match programme, the revised programme of matches being played behind closed doors has allowed us to invest more time in developing the app to support fans following the Bears at home.

“We still hope to accommodate spectators at Vitality Blast Finals Day at Edgbaston on 3 October and the app could play a huge part in supporting our match day operations if this can happen, with benefits of mobile ticketing and ordering food and drink providing ease and greater confidence to everyone in attendance.”

The app, which has been developed by Realife Tech, is integrated with the recently launched edgbaston.com website, which provides the latest news and information from Warwickshire CCC, Birmingham Bears, the venue’s major match programme and the Edgbaston Foundation charity.
