German clothing brand Adidas is all set to become the uniform partner of the Indian cricket team.
The deal which is expected to run until 2028 will be formally announced next month. According to sources, Adidas is set to pay a higher amount than Nike. Nike paid INR 370 crore to hold the Indian team’s clothing rights for a five-year span from 2016 to 2020.
The contract was later handled by MPL Sports from November 2020 to December 2023, albeit they did not finish the term. As MPL left, Killer Jeans stepped in to serve as a replacement sponsor.
