The Indian Sport Management Association (INSMA) and Leeds Beckett University (LBU), acting on behalf of its renowned Carnegie School of Sport, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership for the upcoming Indian Sport Management Conference 2025, scheduled for December 18–19, 2025, at Jio Institute, Navi Mumbai.
Under this collaboration, LBU will serve as the “International Knowledge Partner – United Kingdom” for the event, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing global dialogue and collaboration in sport management, education, and research.
As part of the partnership, LBU will support the event’s academic and industry engagement initiatives. In return, INSMA will provide LBU with extensive branding, visibility, and academic integration opportunities — including student paper presentations, access to research collaborations, recruitment initiatives, and participation in invite-only industry events.
Key highlights of the partnership include:
- Recognition of LBU as the exclusive UK-based academic partner for the conference.
- Opportunities for LBU students and staff to present papers, publish research, and gain hands-on experience through INSMA’s research initiatives.
- Joint publication of up to two white papers with Indian industry partners.
- Recruitment webinar and student membership opportunities with INSMA until March 2027.
- Co-branded exposure across conference materials, media backdrops, and official communications.
Speaking about the collaboration, Dr. Sarthak Mondal, President of INSMA, said: “This partnership represents a milestone in building stronger academic and industry bridges between India and the UK in the field of sport management. Together with LBU, we aim to foster research, innovation, and global collaboration that benefit students, scholars, and professionals alike.”
Mr. Joe Rossiter, Director of University Recruitment and Partnerships at LBU, added: “We’re delighted to partner with INSMA and contribute to the growth of sport management education and practice in India. The conference provides a platform for our students and faculty to engage with emerging trends, share expertise, and strengthen international networks.”
Dr. James Musgrave, Head of Subject at the Carnegie School of Sport, noted: “Our collaboration with INSMA aligns perfectly with LBU’s mission to drive applied research and industry engagement in sport. We look forward to a productive and inspiring partnership.”
The Indian Sport Management Conference 2025 is expected to bring together leading academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students from across the world to discuss innovation, sustainability, and the evolving dynamics of the global sports industry.
