Bosco Aranguren to run DAZN Group’s operations in Spain

DAZN Group, the leading global sports entertainment company have announced that Bosco Aranguren has been appointed to run its operations in Spain.

 

This announcement comes amid significant global momentum for the business, including its acquisition of domestic LaLiga rights in Spain. Aranguren will be based in DAZN’s Madrid office and will take up the newly created role of GeneralManager, Spain, on 18 April 2022.

 

Aranguren is joining a revitalised and heavyweight global leadership team, which has been further bolstered in recent weeks by the appointment of two high profile Italian businesspeople – Franco Bernabè as a strategic advisor and Stefano Azzi as CEO of DAZN Italy.

 

Aranguren has a deep understanding of digital consumer businesses and a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years in marketing, customer management and business development. He joins from Vodafone Spain’s Executive Committee, where he ran Vodafone’s digital and growth areas. Previously, Aranguren held senior roles in Microsoft and Google. Aranguren’s considerable knowledge of the domestic consumer market and expertise in digital transformation will help accelerate DAZN’s ambitious growth aspirations in Spain as it becomes the leading sports broadcaster.

DAZN recently acquired local broadcast rights to 175 LaLiga matches over the next five seasons, adding to an extensive rights portfolio including Copa del Rey, some of the best international soccer competitions (Premier League, UWCL, Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, FA Cup, Carabao Cup or MLS) and a complete multisport offer with MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, F1, Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, boxing, as well as a wide line-up of DAZN original programming and other sports content. With the acquisition of the LaLiga rights, Spain joined Italy, Germany and Japan in the list of markets where DAZN holds extended domestic rights and is a leading sports entertainment platform.
